Commit Your Case to God & Hope in Him
Adversity is defined as 'a difficult or unpleasant situation.'
According to the latest figures from the World Health Organisation, over a million people have been infected globally with Coronavirus (COVID-19). This is a very disturbing news in view of reports from Johns Hopkins University indicating a global death toll of over 70,000 people from the virus.
How then, do you react in times like these?
What do you do in times of adversity?
Please observe all government health, hygiene, social distancing and stay home guidelines.
In addition, let us look at the Bible (Job Chapters 5,13 & 14) for examples and answers:
1-) Appeal to God in prayer continuously
"Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward."- Job 5:7 NIV
"However, if I were you, I would appeal to God and would present my case to him."- Job 5:8 CSB
In difficult, uncertain and troubling times like this, wisdom demands that we seek the face of God continuously, and appeal for His mercy and help.
2-) God will comfort you
"The lowly he sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety."- Job 5:11 NIV
The anxiety, pain and distress of the moment may feel so close, but remember, God's presence will comfort you and give you joy. His hand will lift you up.
3-) God will keep you safe
"From six disasters he will rescue you; even in the seventh, he will keep you from evil."- Job 5:19 NLT
At any time in life, in any condition, situation or circumstance, no one can watch over and keep you safe like God Almighty (Elshaddai). He is the rock of ages.
4-) Hope in God
"At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail."- Job 14:7 NIV
When hope is lost, all is lost. As long as you have life, there is hope. Hope in God is a most essential requirement in times like these.
God bless you.
