As we have just celebrated the Easter Weekend, isn't it wonderful to know that our God is good.
You see the nature of a person, expresses to you and I what to expect from that person. The make up and intrinsic attribute of a thing, clearly shows us what to expect from that thing.
So for example, you can not expect a car by its makeup to fly like an aeroplane, likewise you can not expect a snail by its sluggish nature to either run like a dog or like a Cheetah.
You see, goodness is one of the attributes of the Almighty God. The bible is virtually awashed with the truth that God is good.
"The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made."- Psalm 145:9 (NIV)
"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever."- Psalm 136:1 (NIV)
So because God is good; it is in His nature to do good and express goodness to us, you can surely expect goodness and good things from Him.
"You people who have understanding, listen to me. It is unthinkable that God would ever do evil or that the Almighty would ever do wicked things."- Job 34:10 (GWT)
Evil is not His nature, so anything and everything evil is not from Him. No evil can be found in Him.
"Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow."- James 1:17 (NLT)
Just as He allowed the evil one (the devil) to afflict Job, He the Lord was not the source of Job's calamities, rather, He gave the devil the command not to kill Job.
"Satan replied to the Lord, “Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life". “All right, do with him as you please,” the Lord said to Satan. “But spare his life.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence, and he struck Job with terrible boils from head to foot."- Job 2:4,6 & 7 (NLT)
So when you see evil around you, know for sure that it is not from God. The devil (satan) is the architect of all evil and uses demonic spirits and evil men to perpetrate his evil tendencies. But Hallelujah as a child of God and a beloved of our heavenly Father, God will ensure that evil shall not befall you in the name of Jesus.
"There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent."- Psalm 91:10 (AMP)
He will see to it that goodness, mercy and love from His presence will always attend to your ways in the name of Jesus-Amen!
I conclude with this worship song (chorus) to the Good God:
For the Lord is good (4x)
For the Lord is good and His mercies endureth forever (2X)
