As we commemorate another season of Easter- the culmination of 'The Passion' (suffering and death for humanity) and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am quickened in my spirit-man to reflect on the quickening power of the Holy Spirit.
Christ was raised from the dead by the quickening power of the Holy Spirit. It was the power of the Holy Spirit at work that brought Jesus back to life after He was dead for three days. That power broke the hold and captivity of death.
"and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord."- Romans 1:4
Apostle Paul referred to it as the 'Power of His Resurrection.' Paul expresses loudly what should be the heart cry, yearning and desire of every Christian believer:
"I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead."- Philippians 3:10
My heart cry today as I write this piece is to know Christ anew and experience that mighty power that raised Him from the death. That the power of His resurrection will find a fresh expression in my life.-Amen
"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you."- Romans 8:11
Chapter one of the book of Ephesians clearly chronicles the effects of the workings of the power of His Resurrection: These are the effects of the mighty power of the Holy Spirit at work:
a- Raised Jesus from the dead.
b- Seated Jesus in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
c- Placed Jesus far above every principality, authority, power, dominion or anything else.
d- Puts all things under the authority of Christ.
e- Made Him head over all things for the benefit of the church.
(See Ephesians 1:19-23)
If this same Holy Spirit is dwelling inside of you and me, He will effect the same mighty power and perform the same mighty work that He did in the life of Jesus Christ. He will quicken and give strength to our mortal bodies; He will seat us in a place of honor in life. He will place us above all principalities and not beneath, He will make us the head and not the tail in our earthly adventure. He will make us triumph over the challenges of life and be victorious over every contrary situation and circumstance.
"God raised us from death to life with Christ Jesus, and he has given us a place beside Christ in heaven."- Ephesians 2:6
The same mighty power that raised Jesus from the death is at work in us who believe in Christ Jesus. For there is one God, one Spirit, one faith.
I pray today, that the eyes of our understanding will be opened to know the incredible greatness of this mighty power at work in us. That our hearts may fully grasped with confidence this great hope; this rich and glorious inheritance that God has graciously given to us.
"My prayer is that light will flood your hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God chose you. I want you to know about the great and mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful power he used when he raised Christ from death and let him sit at his right side in heaven."- Ephesians 1:18-20
God bless you.
