Is The Truth
This write up is a continuation of ‘The Word' series and a sequel to the post I did in April on The Word- Is the Light of God. There is a Yoruba adage from Nigeria when translated that says: "If falsehood or lie has been perpetrated for twenty years, it will only take a day for the truth to overcome it".
The Word of God is clearly referred to, described and expressed as 'The Truth'. It is not just 'a truth' out there among a multitude of truths, it is the 'The Truth'.
For Lord God is "the only true God"- John 17:3, His Word is 'The Truth', immutable, unbreakable, and lasting through eternity. So only 'The Truth' comes from God.
The Bible tells us that the only impossibility with God is for Him to tell a lie. So every Word and counsel of God that you will ever discover in the Bible is 'The Truth' and not just a truth. I make bold to say that you can stake your life and destiny firmly upon it.
"So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie."- Hebrews6:18.
You see, the nature of a being (celestial or human) clearly tells what to expect from such being, therefore the nature of a being dictates the attitude and attributes of the being. You see, mankind fell to sin via a lie, Adam, the first man and Eve were collectively deceived, tricked and led to sin when the serpent, who is the devil, told them a lie.
What is a lie? I make bold to say and define here that: "A lie is anything that is contrary to the Word and Counsel of the Almighty God, Who is "The Truth"".
"But God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman."- Genesis 3:3-4.
I think the sorry side of this pathetic incident that befell the first man and woman to ever live was their lack of knowledge and understanding of the nature of God. If only they knew that God is 'The Truth', they probably would have held on tenaciously to His Word spoken to them by His (God's) own very mouth as 'The Truth'. Jesus said: "Your word is the truth. So let this truth make them completely yours."- John17:17
The Word and counsel that proceeds from the Lord God Almighty is and can only be 'The Truth', nothing more and nothing less than 'The Truth'. Anything, knowledge, belief, doctrine, practices, ethics, philosophy, theology, religion, school of thought, reasoning, science that stands opposing, contradicting, refuting and challenging the Word of God is falsehood and a blatant lie, that humanity
should beware of.
"O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith."- 1 Timothy 6:20-21.
