Is The Light of God!
It is revealing to know that words are quite powerful. That is the words you and I speak, our words can either build or destroy; encourage or discourage, heal or hurt. The evidence given via the spoken words of a witness can help shed a beam of light in a dark tunnel and greatly influence the outcome of a case.
If the words of humans, who are mortal and in a figurative sense here today and gone tomorrow could be that effective in determining the outcome of events. How much more shall the Word of the Almighty, Sovereign, Majestic, Omni-potent and Omni-scient God be the standard of reference, final arbiter and authority on any issue in heaven above and on earth.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men."- John1:1&4
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."- Matthew 24:35
"Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven [stands firm as the heavens]"- Psalm 119:89
The Word of God is light. We all know that in the contest between light and darkness, darkness will always bow, fade, retreat, disappear, die at the instance of light. Whenever light comes on and appears on the scene or comes into a situation, darkness must give way.
"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path."- Psalm 119:105
"The entrance of Your words gives light;"- Psalm 119:130
Remember, that just as God is light and the Father of lights, the devil is the father of darkness. Jesus is the Word of God and the light of the world. God dwells in glorious light and in Him is no darkness at all, whilst darkness is the habitation of the evil one and there is no light in him. This strongly explains why the children of Israel cried onto God saying: "Remember the agreement you made with us. Violent enemies are hiding in every dark corner of the earth."- Psalm 74:20
"God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all."- 1 John 1:5
"Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ,"- 2 corinthians 4:4
The Word of God is therefore the light we need in this wicked, depraved, perverted, dark world to dispel every deception, lie, gimmicks, tricks, gloom and doom of darkness. The Word of God will bring light to a people that dwell in darkness. It will open the eyes of understanding of multitudes that are blinded by the lies of the devil. It will turn every captive hearts from the darkness of death and evil to the glorious liberty of life through the Son of God.
"to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people,"- Acts 26:18
"The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine."- Isaiah 9:2
If you are a Christian out there, if you have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, you are the light of the world. The devil and darkness cannot handle, molest, harass you anymore because you are a child of light and every haunt of darkness and evil must bow at your instance and appearance.
"You are the light of the world. ...let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."- Matthew 5:14 &16
It is time for you to arise with the Word of the Lord in your mouth and heart that you might shine forth the light of the glory of God into every captive and unregenerated heart. That the glorious light of the Gospel of Christ may set free, rescue and save those under the power of darkness.
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you."- Isaiah 60:1-2
When the Word of God enters into your heart, the light of God permeates every part of your being, it gives no place or foothold for darkness to dwell. You are illuminated to shine forth the glory of God, dispel, disarm, dominate and destroy every force of darkness.
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it"- John 1:5
It is very obvious that light is the answer to darkness. And this light emanates from the glorious gospel of Christ: the Word of God. When you walk, live and abide in the light of God you will never have any reason to stumble. For that light shines in darkness and darkness could not understand, handle or contain it.
"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light"- Ephesians 5:8
"Come, descendants of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord!"- Isaiah 2:5
