The Great Anchor
A man or woman that has no hope or has lost hope in life is as good as dead. For hope is the engine of life. Where there is no hope, there can't be true life. Hope is what keep you going in the race of life, hope is that assurance that keeps you living in anticipation of a definite and colourful destination.

The hope am referring to here is not the natural and fantasy hope of a pie in the sky, or a wishing hope of winning a jackpot, or still wishing on a star. Rather is the supernatural and sure hope anchored on the sovereignty of God. Not a hope based solely and firmly on human reason and judgment, but a hope rooted in the supremacy of The Lord and of His Christ.
The scriptures says: ...Christ Jesus, who is our hope,- 1 timothy 1:1
When you have Christ living in your life as your Saviour, Master, Friend and Lord, then you have a sure hope in life. This hope will anchor you firmly in the affairs of life that you will not be tossed to and fro, here and there, up and down, helter skelter anymore.
"...Christ in you, the hope of glory."- Colossians 1:27
Hope in Christ is that great assurance, that firm anchor that will stabilize your life forever. if you have this hope, your tomorrow is sure and your future secured, because you have an unfailing assurance and certainty in God through Christ Jesus.
"You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety"- Job 11:18
This hope brings you an assurance, brightness, certainty and steadfastness in life, no matter what the natural course of events indicates. It does not draw it strength from the sight of the natural eyes, or from the hearing of the natural ear or overwhelming human explanation of the natural out-playing of the events of life. But its strength is firmly anchored on the truth- the Word of God that abides forever. And you can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. (See 2 Corinthians 13:8)
It assures you of a glorious and colourful future irrespective of what you maybe be passing through today. It sees and is certain of your bright and blessed tomorrow, not withstanding how cloudy and inclement the horizon might look at this moment.
"For surely there is a latter end [a future and a reward], and your hope and expectation shall not be cut off."- Proverbs 23:18
Jesus is our hope, and if you are joined to Christ Jesus, you have a hope that will not put you to shame, in order words, a hope that cannot fail you, let you down or disappoint you. This becomes a strong anchor for your soul, knowing of a truth, assurance and certainty founded on God's integrity, faithfulness, truthfulness, Word and promises that God cannot lie.
"...it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us." - Hebrews 6:18-20
