Merry Christmas

Am off to Nigeria for the Christmas holidays. This is the first time I will be back in Nigeria in over three years. Am really looking forward to this trip and a most special Christmas and a wonderful holiday.

Thanksgiving

As the year draws to a close and we are all getting in to the hype of the holiday mood, the festivity and shopping activity of the season. It is important for us to pause for a moment and reflect on how good, kind, merciful, gracious and loving the LORD has being to us particularly in this out-going year.

Reflecting on the year, I cannot but be overwhelmed with a sense of praise, gratitude and thanksgiving to God for all He has done concerning me this year. I am indebted to praise Him; I owe Him sincere thanksgiving, because He has done all things well. See my previous posts in the testimony section.

Why & What should I thank God for? You may say to yourself.

You can sing in a storm

There are 3 kinds of birds that respond differently to bad weather.

Chicken - Chicken is most afraid of the slightest rain.
Duck - Duck likes the rain but most oblivious to what happens around it.
Robin - Robin sings in the storm, in fact reserved its sweetest melodies at the height of the storm.

By God's grace you too can sing like a robin in difficult time.

"Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."- Ephesians 5:20. "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."- 1 Thessalonians 8:18

Laugh it off!

Crown The Year With Your Goodness

I woke up this morning with an overwhelming sense and feeling of gratitude and praise to God. I felt a profound depth of thanksgiving to God for all He has done. His awesomes acts, mind-blowing deeds, undoubtable works, answered prayers, undeniable ways and infallible proofs from the beginning of the year to this day. Psalm 65 opens with this line: "Praise awaits You, O God, in Zion;". Words are not adequate to capture the depth of my gratitude to my Father in heaven.

Coupled with this, I also had an overwhelming sense and feeling of excitement and expectation as we begin the last month of the year. WHY? You may inquire, just as I thought to myself. The closing lines in Psalm 65 says "You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance."-(verse 11).

Now I understand in part this overwhelming sense of gratitude and praise to God and profound depth of excitement and expectation in God.
