I am presently away at Stafford for the annual 'Ministries Without Borders' Bible Week Conference which commenced on Saturday 22 July, 2006 at the Staffordshire County Showground, just outside Stafford, UK.

The conference which pulls together congregrations from the Churches working together under the 'Ministries Without Border' umbrella will be on for 6-days, ending on Thursdays 27 July, 2006 .

It shall be another time of togetherness as a people in God's presence. Corporately seeking, praising, celebrating, worshipping, pressing on and forward as 'one united people' into God's divine plan and agenda for our generation.

Italy wins!

A month of football fiesta ended at the Olympiastadion in Berlin yesterday with the crowning of the Italian team as the world champions for the next four years (that's a full term in office for many political governments around the world!). It's going to be a long celebration for the Italians.      

It was a grand finale to a world cup that had the clear favourites Brazil, Argentina bowing out at the quater-final stage, and others like the Czech republic, The Netherlands and Spain making a disappointing exit at the group stage and second round respectively. World cup debutants like Ghana and Ukraine put up a fairly impressive performance that got them to the second round and quarter-final stage respectively, while England was knocked out again at the quater finals via the dreaded penalty shout-out.

Becoming Useful

Jesus was fully God, yet He was fully man. As a man, His power, wisdom, and grace flowed not from His divine nature but from His utter dependence on God. “The Son can do nothing of Himself,” He said (John 5:19). How much did Jesus do apart from God? Nothing!

Jesus always depended on His Father. Luke reports that as news of Jesus’ ministry spread, “Great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed” (Luke 5:15-16). He knew He needed those quiet times to restore His soul.
