During our Church-at-home or home-group meeting last Wednesday, we carried-on on the theme of Love from 1 Corinthians 13 as we have been sharing for some weeks now. And it was the turn of the highly animated Adrian Holland to lead us on "Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth."
In his sharing, Adrian whose wife Sharon had just became a blogger recently- see link to blog; led us to focus on "Love......rejoices in the truth"
It was a great time to be in a company of about 26 people who were rejoicing in the truth. Not from the standpoint of what the world peddles around as the truth, or from what circumstances, media, culture and myths dictates; but the truth that is obtained from the Word of the Lord- the Holy Bible and received by faith in Jesus Christ.
"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."-John 14:6
We concluded a joyful evening meeting by splitting into groups to look up the truth in the Holy Scriptures. Each group in turns then proclaimed and shouted-out loud their discoveries and we all together rejoiced, applauded and celebrated the truth.
Here are some of the truth we all rejoiced in:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."-John 3:16
"Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."- Nehemiah 8:10b
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."- psalm139:14
The Word of God is the truth; Jesus said in John 17:17: "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth." Why not go to the Holy Bible today, search, discover and believe in the truth.
For every challenge, difficult situation, emotional hurts and trying times that you may be going through, there is an answer and solution in the truth. When you locate the truth and believe in it, it shall spring forth a fountain of undescribable joy in your heart, awash your soul with gladness and refresh your body with health, strength, hope and abundant life.
For Jesus Christ is the Word of God; Jesus Christ is the Truth. And you can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth (2 Corinthians 13:8). Why not locate, rejoice in, and celebrate the truth today, and watch your life liberated from the clutches of sin, deceit, depression, oppression, hopelessness and the evil one.
"To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."-John 8:31&32
a very beautiful reminder. just right for me now. thank you.
