Precisely a week ago on Tuesday in my time of fellowship, seeking and intermeddling with all wisdom in His Word, while I was studying Genesis 27, I read of Esau's tears, disappointment, deep anguish, helplessness and hopelessness when he learnt that his brother had yet supplanted him again and it really touched my heart.
As I read on, it got me to a point of emotion, where I could not help but feel for Esau that he had been robbed again. How he wept, wept and wept at his loss, how he pleaded with his father to bless him just with any blessing left. What a poor fellow he was, I was almost moved to tears for him when His father told him that he had literally poured all his blessing on his brother- Jacob and that he had nothing left for him.
"When Esau heard his father's words, he burst out with a loud and bitter cry and said to his father, "Bless me—me too, my father!" But he said, "Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing." Isaac answered Esau, "I have made him lord over you and have made all his relatives his servants, and I have sustained him with grain and new wine. So what can I possibly do for you, my son?" Esau said to his father, "Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless me too, my father!" Then Esau wept aloud."- Genesis 27:34-35,37-38
Immediately the Spirit of the Lord quickened in me the richness and abundance of God blessing towards all through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
"For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him"- Romans 10:12
God has abundant blessings and in truth He pours out these blessings abundantly on all who call on Him. The storehouse of heaven never runs out of blessings like in the pathetic case of Esau, the same God who blesses one is rich enough to bless another, and indeed bless all who are in Christ Jesus. God has unique and appropriate blessings for all His children- including you. For there is no-one that belongs to Him in Christ Jesus that will be denied his blessing.
What a fresh reassurance that was for me and indeed a strong boost of my faith.
"From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another."- John 1:16
"But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: "When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men."- Ephesians 4:7
"...when you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation."- 1 Corinthians 14:26
Of a truth God has no favourites, but again He equally has favourites- that is anyone who will come to Him, and anyone who is in Him in Christ Jesus. That means when I am in Christ Jesus, I am God's favourite and no man, person or being can rob me or supplant my blessings from God.
"Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right."- Acts 10:34-35
There is only one thief, robber, that is the devil, that attempts to rob the children and favourites of God of their blessings in Christ (John 10:10). Halleluia! Glory to God, through redemption the robber- the devil has been arrested and is kept in chain until the day of judgment, and the abundant blessings of God was released and is still being lavished today on all who are in Christ, and will come to Christ Jesus.
For "He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus..."- Galatians 3:14
Halleluia! In Christ Jesus the richness of the abundance of God's blessing abounds and extends to all His sons and daughters. His richness, goodness and blessings is available to all who belong to Him. Therefore no one, force or being can eternally rob and deny you of your blessing in Christ Jesus.
Beautifully written. God is, indeed, rich in blessings to all who are His.
