Help my unbelief!

I recently read a small booklet on "You can have living faith" published by the United church of God. The booklet covered the definition of faith, why many lack faith, examples of living faith, enemies of faith, growing in faith and others.

As I devoured the small booklet, enjoying every bit of it, I found myself stuck on the 'Growing in faith' section, and it has since refused to let go off me. This is with particular reference to the story of the father who brought his demon-possessed son to Jesus to heal him. (Mark 9:14-29):

Laugh it off

This segment is set aside to make you laugh, by posting healthy jokes that will fill your mouth with laughter. Do you know that laughter is good and healthy for you? If you are not sure you may find out from the author of laughter (God), who himself laughes (see Psalm 2:4).

A Dublin Jew

A Dublin Jew who happens to be walking by an Orangemen march, is hit in the head by a rock, and collapses, nearing the point of death.

A priest, who happens to be at the march, takes the man in his arms and says, "Do you believe in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost?"

The Jew looks at him with a puzzled gaze and says, "Here I am dying, and now he asks me riddles!"

Notable Christian Born Today

"And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead"- Hebrews 11:4

On this day 201 years ago, Sarah Flower Adams was born in Essex, England. Sarah wrote the  popular  hymn: "Nearer, My God, To Thee". Born on February 22, 1805, she married William Bridges Adams in 1834. She lived a very short, but blessed life, and died on Au­gust 14, 1848.

“Nearer, My God, to Thee” was sung at the end of the 1936 movie San Francisco, which was nominated for several Academy Awards. It was also played by the ship’s band in Titanic, winner of the Academy Award for best picture of 1997.

There are also many inspiring true life stories associated with this hymn. Some Titanic survivors said it was played by the ship’s orchestra as the ocean liner went down (though other survivors said it was a different song).

I am proud of......

In our world today where people are proud of their possessions, achievements, status in the society, heritage and inheritance etc. I took a moment out to ponder!, what it is that I am ultimately proud of in this world.

A wise man once said: "If you dont know the worth of a thing, abuse is inevitable". The truth is: you can't know the worth of a thing, until you know its intrinsic composition, make-up and identity. When you discover its worth, then you can make the most of it, you can derive maximum benefit from it, hence you can be proud of it.

Weekend Cartoon

Lamb of God

A Methodist minister, tells this story. He was driving one day in rural Washington state and stopped to allow a herd of sheep to cross the road. As he watched, the phrase "Lamb of God" drifted through his mind. Unable to contain himself, he jumped from the car and asked the shepherd, "What does 'Lamb of God' mean to you?"

Although probably startled to be greeted by such a query from a complete stranger, the shepherd answered without missing a beat.

And they went out......

The last three days of last week were great, unique, creative and fruitful days of sowing and evangelism in and around Cardiff University, UWIC and the University of Glamorgan.

The evangelism team that I work with- Jon, Lydia, Saskia and Khalida had the great opportunity of going out together with the students from the School of the Word- SOTW, Cardiff on a 3-day evangelism outreach in and around these Universities .

What Would They Say?

Three buddies die in a car crash, and they go to heaven to an orientation.

They are all asked, "When you are in your casket and friends and family are mourning upon you, what would you like to hear them say about you?

The first guy says, "I would like to hear them say that I was a great doctor of my time, and a great family man."

The second guy says, "I would like to hear that I was a wonderful husband and school teacher who made a huge difference in our children of tomorrow."

The last guy replies, "I would like to hear them say, "Look! He's moving!"
