Thanks be to God

You probably may not expect to see a cartoon on hell on this blog. But when I saw it the first thing that came to my heart was thanksgiving to God for the greatest redemption and salvation of all time of the saints.

"Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."- Colossians 1:12-14.

The second thing was the hopelessness, condemnation and eternal damnation that awaits the unsaved. "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."- Mark 16:16

The good news is: God through the sacrifice of His Son has provided a way out of this eternal punishment, condenmation, judgment and suffering for everyone that will believe in His Son- Jesus Christ and accept Him. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."- John 3:16-18

Book Excerpt

I read the book: 'The Knowledge of the holy' over a year ago, and in the process I could not but pen down some of the inspiring phrases and statements that literally jumped out (or better still 'popped out') of the pages of the book to me then. I like to share with you some of the excerpts from the inspiring book written by A.W. Tozer. I hope these will bless, encourage and strengthen you in the Kingdom Adventure this week.

Church Music

A minister, having served the same church for many years, decided to leave and take a similar position in another church. Without telling anyone he had made this decision or writing a letter to the congregation, he waited until Sunday morning to announce his resignation in church.

When he spoke to the congregation he said, "The same Jesus that called me to this church many years ago has now called upon me to leave and serve another church."

The choir all stood and sang, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."

On The Marble

When Jesus died for us, He did it willingly. Because Jesus is God, He could have escaped from His captors and executioners with a spectacular display of power. But if He had, we would still be lost in our sins. How can we ever repay our LORD? We can't. How should we respond? We can trust Jesus with our life and live as He wants us to. How are you showing your gratitude to Christ?

A Walkover Victory

This term or phrase, whichever you prefer to call it, came to me during the course of my activities today. Infact it accurately describes the outcome of one of the event that clearly marked out my day today.

I think 'A Walkover Victory' attempts to describe a situation where you have been declared, proclaimed or adjudged to have won a victory in a battle, contest or case (either in the battle-ground, arena or court) that you did not show up for.

Diamonds are forever?

Do you know that diamond is the hardest substance on earth, infact it is 58 times harder than the  next hardest mineral on earth (that is amazing!). Diamonds are said to be formed over a period of a billion or more years deep wihin earth's crust- about 150km deep (incerdible!).

It was only during the 15th century that it was discovered that the only way to cut diamonds was with other diamonds. Yet diamonds are brittle. If you hit one hard with a hammer, it will shatter, and if placed in an oven and the temperature is raised to about 763 degrees Celsius (1405 degrees Fahrenheit), it will simply vanish, without even ash remaining.
