A Gift for all this season and always

One thing that the Christmas and holidays season is being noted for in recent years is the colourful decorations, festivities, celebrations and exchange of gifts and presents.

The Christmas season is such a beautiful and exciting time of the year when families come together for some sort of reunion and share big, sumptous meals, giving and receiving gifts and presents. We also see some charitable organisations giving and donating gifts and money to the needy and poor in the local communities and even to distant and foreign countries, all in the love, warmth and spirit of the season.

Laugh it off

A sermon about lying

A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."

The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up. The minister smiled and said, "Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."

Well Done?

Notable Christian Born Today

G. Morgan Campbell (1863 to 1945)
Congregational Church

George Campbell Morgan was born in Gloucester, England. Having served several pastorates, Morgan became pastor of the Westminster Congregational Church in London in 1904. It was a dying church which, under his ministry, the Lord turned into one of the most active congregations by the time he left in 1917. Morgan authored more than 60 Bible commentaries and books of sermons, many of which are still in print today.

How time flies, it seems just like yesterday when I had my first post as a blogger, here I am today, a year and some days on in the blogging world. Time indeed waits for no man (or woman), it flies as swiftly as the twinkling of the eye; it is undoubtedly the greatest asset of all.
