One Year of Blogging.

A year ago today I was introduced to the blogging world and instantly became a blogger. It has been an exciting, interesting and equally challenging adventure in the blogging world. I have enjoyed myself this last year posting jokes, memorable quotes, inspiring articles etc on my blog.

I have received encouraging, nice and sincere comments, including great feedbacks from folks who have visited my site. I have also come across amazing and pleasant friends and fellow bloggers since my entrance into the blogging world. It's indeed being a year of fun and excitement for me as a blogger.

Thanksgiving Day

Today is Thanksgiving Day. It is a day of celebration, sharing big meals, festivities and thanksgiving to God. It is day with a rich history behind it in the US.

In all of these I am really fascinated that a day could be set aside to offer thanks and express gratitude to God for granting the people a bumper harvest of crops and fruits from their fields. A day consciously set aside for all the people in the land to say 'thank-you' to God and celebrate Him for all His material blessings and bounties over them.

That sure tickles me, for it is indeed a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord.

I salute, Governor William Bradford of the Plymouth Colony who in 1621 proclaimed a day of thanksgiving and prayer to celebrate the pilgrims' first harvest in America. I also salute America's first President, George Washington who in 1789 issued the first presidential thanksgiving proclamation.

Theses men and others who have worked on making this thanksgiving day a national day for all the people in the land to reflect on, celebrate and say a very big 'thank-you' to God for all His material blessings and abundance of all things; have indeed left a rich, priceless legacy and heritage for a people, nation and generations yet unborn.

Kingdom Adventure

An adventure is a wild, strange and exciting undertaking. It is quite understandable when someone undertakes a series of activities because it gives some excitement. What I find difficult to grapple with is why someone would undertake a series of activities which could be classified as wild. I wonder, ponder and ask: Why undertake a wild adventure?

Moving On, Moving Up

I got a free one year subscription gift of Typepad Pro from Typepad courtesy of Erling Thu- my teacher when I was in the Bible School last year. Erling it was who introduced me and some of my colleagues (Caleb) in the school to blogging in November 2004. I'd like to thank Erling for his commitment and encouragement to my blogging, by facilitating my access to this blogging facility (one of the best around).
