Holy Spirit- The Resurrection Power

The Power of His [Christ’s] Resurrection is the Holy Spirit. He [The Holy Spirit] is the power of God Who raised Jesus from the dead.

So we see the Triune God [Trinity- God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit] at work in Resurrection. Praise The Lord!

“And he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.”- Roman 1:4 

May the resurrection power in-dwell you today and quicken your mortal body in Jesus name-Amen!

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”- Romans 8:11

Jesus of Nazareth- The Saviour King

During this Easter season, I was reading the story of the Passion (arrest, trial, suffering and crucifixion) of the Lord Jesus in the Gospel of John chapter 19.

When Pilate handed Jesus over to be crucified; "Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS."- John 19:19

The Bible records that this title written by Pilate about Jesus (as King of the Jews) was written in three Languages: Hebrews, Latin & Greek. (See John 19:20).

In Times of Adversity- SERIES 2

Commit Your Case to God & Hope in Him

Adversity is defined as 'a difficult or unpleasant situation.'

According to the latest figures from the World Health Organisation, over a million people have been infected globally with Coronavirus (COVID-19). This is a very disturbing news in view of reports from Johns Hopkins University indicating a global death toll of over 70,000 people from the virus.

How then, do you react in times like these?                                                             
What do you do in times of adversity?

Please observe all government health, hygiene, social distancing and stay home guidelines. 
In addition, let us look at the Bible (Job Chapters 5,13 & 14) for examples and answers:

1-) Appeal to God in prayer continuously
"Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward."- Job 5:7 NIV
"However, if I were you, I would appeal to God and would present my case to him."- Job 5:8 CSB
In difficult, uncertain and troubling times like this, wisdom demands that we seek the face of God continuously, and appeal for His mercy and help.

Wisdom Nuggets Today!

Faith comes from hearing [i.e. hearing God's Word]. Fear also comes from hearing [i.e. hearing words, opinions, lies, threats of the enemy].

"So then faith comes BY HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD OF GOD."- Romans 10:17

"And the Philistine said, "I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together." When Saul and all Israel HEARD those WORDS OF THE PHILISTINE, they were DISMAYED, and greatly AFRAID."- 1 Samuel 17:10-11

In Times of Adversity- SERIES 1

Return to God & Develop a Close Relationship with Him 

Adversity is defined as 'a difficult or unpleasant situation.'

At a time when Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has claimed over 24,000 lives, and over a quarter of the world's population is under some form of lockdown. These are indeed difficult and unpleasant times!

How then, do you react in times like these?
What do you do in times of adversity?

Please observe all government health, hygiene and stay at home instructions and policies.
In addition, let us look at the Bible (the book of Job 22:21-30) for examples and answers:

1-) Get to know God more
"Get to know God, and you'll be at peace with him, and then prosperity will come to you."- Job 22:21 ISV
Submit your life to God. Spend more time in His presence. Get acquainted with the Lord. This will give you peace.

You must be born again

Spiritual birth, not human birth is a Prerequisite for acceptance and entrance into the Kingdom of God.

“Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’” -John 3:5-7

 

Time

"Time is your most valuable possession. You can get more money but you cannot get more time. Do not fritter away your life, like a fool. Life is short – live in the moment and make the most of every day."- Nicky Gumbel- Bible in one year

"Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil."- Ephesians 5:15-16

Forgiveness

If man’s greatest need in life was pleasure, then God would have sent an entertainer. If man’s greatest need would have been money, then He would have sent a financial consultant. If man’s greatest need would have been for information, He would have sent an educator.

 

But God in His infinite wisdom knew that man’s greatest need was forgiveness — and so He sent a Saviour (Matthew 1:21).

The Maturing Christian

A growing, maturing & fruitful Christian (i.e. someone born again of the Spirit) will receive a blessing from God.

“For when the ground soaks up rain that often falls on it and continues producing vegetation useful to those for whom it is cultivated, it receives a blessing from God.”- Hebrews 6:7 ISV

 

Therefore, as a Christian, you should have a daily desire, hunger, drive and determination to grow in the Lord: 

- To grow in the knowledge of God,

- To grow in the the fear of God, 

- To grow in the love of God, and 

- To grow in your walk (i.e fellowship & relationship) with God.

God's Rule & Reign

The Kingdom of God is a spiritual Kingdom, not a political kingdom or material kingdom.

"The Kingdom of God is the spiritual rule and reign of God in the hearts of men"- Eddie Parrish

"Some Pharisees asked Jesus when the Kingdom of God would come. His answer was, The Kingdom of God does not come in such a way as to be seen. No one will say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!'; because the Kingdom of God is within you."- Luke 17:20-21 GNT

"Jesus answered, My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world."-  John 18:36 NLT

Rich in Mercy

Excerpts from 'Bible in One Year' by Nicky Gumbel

A man was having his portrait painted by a successful artist. When the portrait was finished it was unveiled. The man was most unhappy with the result. When asked whether he liked it, he replied, ‘I don’t think it does me justice.’ To which the artist replied, ‘Sir, it is not justice you need, but mercy!’

At the end of the day we all need mercy even more than justice. God is ‘rich in mercy’ (Ephesians 2:4). The theme of the ‘mercy of God’ runs throughout the Bible. In the original Greek, ‘eleos’ (mercy) also means compassion, pity, clemency.

The mercy of God is available for you.

Time & Season

I pray for You reading this:

‘In Due Season, God will give to you what is Due to You.

In your Appointed Time, God will give you what is Appointed for you.

In your Set Time, God will give to you what Heaven has Set Apart for You before the foundation of the world.

In Jesus Christ name- Amen’

“The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season”- Psalm 145:15 

“You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come”- Psalm 102:13

”Until the time came to fulfil his dreams, the LORD tested Joseph’s character”- Psalm 107:19

Please take time to pray it over your life also.

Consult God

Man's duty is to make plans (for his life, activities, undertakings ...), God's duty is to determine and confirm the outcomes of man's plans.

So, why not seek and consult God, before making plans for your activities today.

Have a full-filling day.
