But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.- 1 Corinthians 15:10
'The pursuit of God is perhaps the cheapest way to connect with the power of God.'
"O God, you are my God; early will I seek you: my soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see your power and your glory, so as I have seen you in the sanctuary."- Psalm 63:1-2
Isn't it refreshing and great to know that the world recognises the importance of happiness in a world awashed with a deluge of depressing news particularly with the current surge in religious extremism.
As refreshing as the concept of International Day of Happiness (March 20) is, we need to remember that happiness is fleeting, temporary and circumstantial. This is because our happiness is a function of happenings around us; it is based on the events around us. So when we receive and hear good news, we are happy; but when we receive bad news, what happens to our happiness? Also when we receive gifts from people and they show us love, we are happy; but when people ignore and treat us bad, what happens to our happiness?
"Above all, be careful what you think because your thoughts control your life."- Proverbs 4:23 (ERV)
"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."- Romans 12:2 (NLT)
"When God sets you up, no man, no force, no power can bring you down"
"Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, .... “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”"- Psalm 2:1-3,6
Every genuine outward
transformation begins from the inside. Every change on the outside is a function of the change on the inside. There can be no external conversion without first an internal conversion.
"Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup
and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also."- Matthew 23:26
A conscious and continuous Introspection (Inward Examination) of our walk and relationship with God will make us fit as vessels of His (Gods) Glory.
"Test yourselves to discover whether you are true believers: put your own selves
under examination. Or do you not know that Jesus Christ is within you, unless
you are insincere?"- 2 Corinthians 13:5 (Weymouth New Testament)
"What you do not desire, you may not seek for. What you do not seek for, you may not acquire. Your desire fuels your pursuit, it drives you toward your goal."
"One thing have I DESIRED of the Lord, that will I SEEK after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in His temple."- Psalm 27:4 (Emphasis mine)
