As the year draws to a close and we are all getting in to the hype of the holiday mood,
the festivity and shopping activity of the season. It is important for us to pause for a moment and reflect on how good, kind, merciful, gracious and loving the LORD has being to us particularly in this out-going year.
Reflecting on the year, I cannot but be overwhelmed with a sense of praise, gratitude and thanksgiving to God for all He has done concerning me this year. I am indebted to praise Him; I owe Him sincere thanksgiving, because He has done all things well. See my previous posts in the testimony section.
Why & What should I thank God for? You may say to yourself.
a) For the LORD is Good
If for nothing else, thank God for His goodness, tender mercies, faithfulness, steadfast love, kindness. It is because of His un-ending love & mercies that you & I are not consumed.
Psalm 118 chronicles the goodness and everlasting mercies of God. Verse 1 says: "Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."
"For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations."- Psalm 100:5
This was the song of the people of God when they brought the Ark of God to the Temple singing with trumpets, singers and all kinds of musical instrument saying: "For He is good, for His mercy endures forever." (See Chronicles 5:13&14)
b) Thanksgiving is a Scriptural Admonition
1 Thessalonians 5:18 it says "In every thing give thanks:...". Also Psalm 100:4 says " Be thankful to Him, and bless His name."
We are enjoined and admonished to be thankful to God at all times and in every thing, to be full of thanks to God is the will of God for us. Doing the will of the God is obedience to the Father, and in the act of obedience to the Father, He commands His blessings on us.
If you are alive and have breath in you, you owe God profound gratitude & thanksgiving.
"Let everything that has breath praise the LORD."- Psalm 150:6
c) Thanksgiving is a Good Thing
Psalm 92:1 & 2 says "It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night,"
God surely delights in our acts of praise, gratitude and thanksgiving because it is a good thing to do. He takes absolute pleasure when our lives are full of declaring His praises and giving Him thanks for: Who is His; what He has done; what He is doing; what He will yet do.
He is worthy of all our praises and thanksgiving. He alone is worthy of it all. For He has done it all and He has done it well.
Thank you LORD for- You are good, Your mercy, loving-kindness, faithfulness & truth endures forever. Thank You for all You did in 2006 & what You will yet do in 2007.

Hey there! . Happy Thanksgiving!! :) :) :) :)
Thanksgiving is 1 of my favorite holidays, and every year I like to get into the mood-extend the holiday, since it were-by reading "Thanksgiving novels." Not surprisingly, all these stories are mostly about family and friends, about coming together to heal old hurts and getting thanks for the gift of love. .. .. :
